FRINGE REVIEW: Liz Nicholls - The Musical

Here’s the backstory. Two years ago Edmonton Journal theatre critic gave a bad review to a Fringe Production from a touring artist. Seeking revenge, the artist decided to mount a Fringe Show to comment on the review. The performer in question wins the Fringe lottery and gets an opportunity to gain artistic revenge. Unfortunately, said performer has a scheduling conflict and is unable to honor his original commitment. He sells the Fringe Spot (for an undisclosed amount) to stand-up comedians based in Toronto. The new incarnation is painfully unfunny stand-up that is mercifully only one hour long. Book that root canal surgery you were putting off.

Zero out of five stars.

LOL - I'll line up to see the opera next year! I want to see the real Liz Nicholls musical eventually. After so many years of service to the community, Liz deserves her own musical. But she deserves a good one.
