FRINGE REVIEW: A Cynic Tells Love Stories

Katherine Glover is that sweet girl from your high school drama class.  She’s the neighbour you borrow a cup of sugar from.  She’s you.  As the honest voice of A Cynic Tells Love Stories, Glover shares an open confession about her past that we can all recognize ourselves in.  From hopeless romantic to cynic, slut, and (briefly) wife, her story bares all.  This show is about coming to terms with ourselves as sexual beings and recognizing that the relationships in our past make us who we are.  Along the way, Glover draws laughs with a new drink recipe – the Bad Relationship – and tales of being the campus Safer Sex Slut.  She’s confident as a one-woman show, and her engaging stories will keep you hooked.  While Katherine Glover might label herself a cynic, she ultimately left me full of hope that we all might figure out, eventually, what we want.

Four and a half stars out of five.
