Broken-up sidewalks and crater-like potholes are the bane of every urbanite the world over, and Edmonton is no exception. In the spirit of taking action over complaining, SEE Magazine presents a four-part series that looks at some of those irritating little trouble spots, and calls for a fix-it job. We want to continue the feature, so if something needs fixing in your neighbourhood, don’t just bitch about it, tell us! E-mail news@see.greatwest.ca with the location (and a picture if you can) and we’ll do the digging.
Problem
Jasper Avenue entrances to Commerce Place have been broken for over a year.
Who’s responsible
Rod Murray (operations manager, Commerce Place)
944-0899
Remarks
The entrances to Commerce Place facing Jasper Avenue have been unusable and in various stages of repair since an inspection deemed them unsafe in 2008. How is it that they haven’t been fixed yet? Murray says the doors are custom-built, and new parts aren’t readily available. At the moment, management is in the process of deciding whether it will be better to repair the doors or replace them.

society and needs to be eliminated from the society as soon as
