CROCODILE ROCK
Elton John
Rexall Place  • Sept. 13
$79  | Ticketmaster.ca
Saturday night’s alright for a fight, right? Just remember: if you feel the urge to swing keep in mind that Elton’s legal team packs more of a wallop than all  your friends combined. Oh, who are we kidding? Fisticuffs with  EJ is a ridiculous notion, instead we recommend trying to out-dress him. That’s right, it’s time to bust out dad’s old trunk of suede and silk blouses, blazers, and sequined platform shoes. Not only was that man stylish, he was damn sexy too — your dad we mean.

ELECTRO BUS DISCO
Shout Out Out Out Out
Churchill Square• Sept. 12
Free
The wheels on the bus go round and round, and Edmonton’s own electro disco techs will lead the celebratory charge to ring in 100 years of public transit in the City of Champs. And seriously, considering the smell, rude people, and the incredible amount of stray gum on the seats you have to be a champ to stomach the bus this day and age. Helping the Shout Outs give a shout out to the city’s bus culture will be The Whitsundays and Trevor Tchir. Booyah!

MMMMBOP
Neil Diamond
Rexall Place • Sept. 16
$54.74 | Ticketmaster.ca
There must be something in Edmonton’s autumn air that is bringing the heavy hitters from yesteryear  to town.  Tom Petty, Santana, Elton John, and now Mr. Diamond himself. Or maybe it’s the water. If that’s the case it will be interesting to see what kind of musicians start showing up once those upgraders are installed in the North Saskatchewan River. Our guess would be performers such as Vanilla Ice, Snow, and Latoya Jackson. Sheesh, talk about bad pollution!
