What does a good tan do for a person?
A good tan is protection for your skin against the sun, because that’s the way your skin reacts to the sun.
Why should a person get a tan?
For a lot of reasons. Holidays, for instance: if you were to go on a holiday, I’m sure you’d get a tan. You don’t want to burn, so you need that protection.
So, does tanning give you cancer?
Overexposure, of course, will give you skin cancer—just like outside. But realistically, no, it doesn’t give you cancer. All of our bulbs here at Fabutan are formulated to be just like the sun so you get the vitamin D. The bulbs are UV A and UV B. We don’t use UV C in our beds. UV B starts the tanning process and UV A finalizes it. And then with both of them you get a good tan going, but too much definitely ends up in sunburn.
Why doesn’t Fabutan use UV C bulbs?
UV C will burn you. It’s the strongest.
Has anyone ever been hospitalized after falling asleep in a tanning bed?
No, I don’t think so.
Do people ever wear sunscreen while they tan?
Some people can wear sunscreen, yeah, if you’re really fair. It’s just like the sun, right? If you burn outside, then you’re going to burn indoors. So we try not to burn you. Well, actually, we don’t burn you at all; we’ll put you in for, like, three minutes or four minutes, depending on your skin tone.
Are there any parts of the body that tan faster than others?
Not so much faster, but there’s, like, more skin that is thick on the face and the arms, because they are mostly exposed to the sun. So it’s harder to tan the face, legs, and arms, but the middle part of your body will tan faster.
What are the rules for proper tanning etiquette in a tanning salon?
Don’t play the music too loud, especially if you’re up close to the front near the phone. Most people wipe down the beds with the towels so they don’t leave all of the sweat and stuff lying around. Clean up any lotion spilled on walls and the floor—that would help.
What’s better: tanning beds or stand-up rooms?
I like them both as long as you roll over so you won’t get white lines between your bum cheeks.
Are people supposed to tan naked?
Lot’s of people do, yeah. That’s the reason for tanning, right?
